What kind of wax are Context candles made from?
Context candles have hand-poured paraffin wax bodies with a matte, warm-ivory finish. The wax forms the candle’s exterior; an LED inside provides the light.
What colour is the light, and does it flicker?
Context uses a warm, flickering 2,700K LED. The light sits inside a shallow well at the flat top of the candle. See the light and the wax body.
Are the candles scented?
No. Context candles are made with unscented real wax. The light comes from an LED inside, so there is no burning wick or open flame.
Is there a flame, smoke or burning wax?
No. The light comes from an LED, so there is no burning wick, open flame, soot or smoke from a flame. The wax body is not consumed to produce the light.
How long do the candles stay lit?
A 30-minute charge provides 30 hours of light per candle. That’s about two weeks at two hours each evening. Continuous use lasts 30 hours.
How do I recharge the candles?
Connect the dock using the USB cable and power adapter included with the set. Place the candles on the dock to recharge. See the setup guide and 17-second demonstration.
Will Context candles fit my votives or candle holders?
Each candle is 32 mm across and 64 mm tall. Compare those measurements with the inside of your holder and its opening. Leave enough clearance to lift the candle out for charging; fit depends on the holder. Check dimensions and holder fit.
Do the candles need to stay plugged in while lit?
No. Each candle is cordless while lit, so you can move it away from the dock. The dock needs its USB power connection when you recharge the candles.
